Gastridium (Asprella) geneifaensis (Abbass, 1977)

 

 

Description:

 

Shell small, biconical; spire conical with convex sides; low whorls with median carina; deep, linear suture; last whorl higher than spire, conical, with posterior shoulder under which the sides are inclined; surface crossed by numerous spiral cords separated by narrower interspaces; the spirals decrease in width at the back; narrow, high opening; outer lip with posterior sinus on the shoulder; inner lip parallel to the outer lip, smooth (1).

Abbas compares this specimen with Conus insculptus, which has a proportionately higher shell, higher spire and spirals crossed by axial threads.
